Common questions
What is a DTC or error code?
When something goes wrong, the engine computer stores a fault code. Your scanner or workshop tool reads that number so you know where to start looking.
What do MIL and EDC lamps mean?
MIL is the check-engine style warning light. EDC points to the electronic diesel control side. Our table shows which lamp should come on for each code on your model.
Can I clear a code without fixing the fault?
You can reset the light, but it will come back if the real problem is still there. Fix the cause first, then clear the code.
